Stuff its good to know...

How long will it take?

Each of the 5 chapters is about 10mins of tutorials followed by a task for you to complete. So a bit over an hour of material.

The tasks can take a bit longer if you give them time and do the course over several days, or you can do it all in a day,

Is this just for research presentations?

No. The course is aimed at researchers or people communicating research, but the principles and ideas can be applied to any presentation.

How long do I have to complete it?

You'll be able to access the course forever and multiple times, so you can come back for a reminder anytime šŸ˜Ž

100% recommend- Duncan has a knack for breaking big concepts into sizeable chunks and keeping the audience interested.  Well paced and fun- thanks a tonne!

Emily Dunford

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The sample structures and diagrams presented were so helpful. I had never thought of visualising my writing like that before, but I will do in future. I would definitely recommend this course to other PhD researchers..

This is an easy-to-follow guide to why you need to change how you present and how to do it better. It starts off by showing you how bad presentations can be, and then gives you the tools to fix it like a Fairy Godmother and leaves you on a high. Talk about following your own advice, Duncan....

I think this is a must-watch for anyone, not just researchers. .

Lynsey Hall

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I'd always thought I was quite good at giving talks, until I took this course and realised how much BETTER I could be doing it. -  A thoroughly engaging and enthusiastic experience, minus the performative extroversion that has put me off previous communication courses. 10/10

Problem-solution-result various structures are exciting, esp the cinders the rule of three is true!! and the fact that "example, people, process, and tension" is the source of story!!

I really appreciated how the online course was set out in bite-sized, digestible chunks of information. The first few sections were good introductions to story telling and the activities set out were useful for reflecting on how my research journey has gone so far. What really grabbed my attention, however, were the final two sections about structure, as I didn't realise how much I needed it not just to organise my thoughts for future presentations, but for dissertation planning too! Really glad that I signed up and followed it through.
